Regenerative Medicine

What does that mean? Instead of getting a knee replacement, let’s see if the one you have can be regenerated. You do that through using stem cell therapy and protein rich plasma (known as PRP) and there might be other options as well. The stickler with using the stem cells has been that the patient must pay for it out of pocket as insurance has not been willing to cover it.

As of January 2021, it is my understanding that Medicare will pay for stem cell therapy. That means you might be able to regenerate that knee or hip or shoulder or other joint instead of replacing it. If I can, I’d like to keep my parts! When Medicare does it, often other insurance follows. Of course, check with doctors who do that work. If you would like a referral to someone who does the stem cell therapy, give me a call.

Why I Practice Like I Do

I remember watching some of the docu-series that have come out the last few years.  Whether they were talking about cancer or other diseases, they would talk about how you have to get rid of all of the virus in your body, all of the bacteria in your body, all of the fungus in your body as well as the heavy metals.  All of this is what we call the body’s burden.  And this is what I do when I work with people chemically, meaning I give them the supplements to kill those organisms and pull the heavy metals.  Doing this decreases your body’s burden.

When the body’s burden gets too much for the body to bear, it gets a disease.  It really is that simple.

And of course, genetics are important, but genetics are responsible for 5% of all cancers. You can do something about decreasing your body’s total load!  Call or text and make an appointment!

Work from the Heart

Does it make your heart smile when someone really enjoys their job? Danny Combs started out as a country western musician and then became a father. After his son was diagnosed on the Autism spectrum, right here in our own city of Denver, Danny Combs opened a shop to teach trades to the Autistic community. It is called T.A.C.T. which stands for Teaching the Autism Community Trades. He teaches them how to repair cars. He says they are uniquely suited to do this kind of work. Scott, an autistic young man here in Denver, shared his own journey in a feature film called “Autism: One Man’s Journey.” He also filmed this episode of the Mike Rowe show. I’d love to give T.A.C.T. a shout out and if anyone has any old cars, they could use them. I hope you enjoy this segment of the Mike Rowe show. Having this kind of love for your job, which is his purpose, is so important to our overall component of health. My hat is off to this group!!

Where’s Your Head?

Posture is very important.  There have been correlations between health and posture.  Good posture begets good health.  Posture is somewhat set in our nervous system and difficult to change by executive decision.  We have to work for good posture through exercise as well as intention.

One of the biggest problems I see in our world today is having a head forward position.  Be a people watcher and you will see as people are standing or walking, their head protrudes forward.  Since our head weighs 10 to 15 pounds, you can see that from an engineer’s perspective, that puts a great deal of stress on the body.

Why would you have a head forward position?  Think of your position while at the computer and while looking at your phone.  You are contracting your neck muscles on a consistent basis making them tight.  What to do?  Exercise and stretch your neck in the opposite direction.  The next time you are in to see me, remind me to go over some exercises for you!

Happy New Year!

I love the beginning of a New Year.  It feels like we get to start over.  In what way do you need to start over this year?

I decided to take this year and go through my whole house.  I want to find a new home for all the things that are taking up space in my home and life that I most likely don’t need. This is partly because I have moved my office to my house.  But it is also because I am getting older.  I saw an article in AARP magazine a few years ago that was titled something like, “How to Make Your Kids Hate You.”  It was about leaving a mess for someone else to clean up.  Cleaning up is a constant process whether it be our house, our health, our finances or our emotional baggage.

I know I won’t do it all at once because life requires constant adjustments.  But since we are staying home, it is a great time to set in motion something you have wanted to do but keep putting off.  What is that for you?

Nutrition Facts

Some people can’t take a supplement and some people prefer not to take supplements.  And, I always say it is better to get our nutrition in our food if at all possible.  That is the way it was meant to be, right?

I might say to a patient, “you need magnesium.”  A patient sometimes responds with, I just can’t take any magnesium or it will give me diarrhea (listen up folks with constipation!).  “So, dear patient, you need to eat foods with magnesium in them.”

What food has magnesium in it?  Go to a website Dr. Greger made called www.nutritionfacts.org. It is completely free and all profits from any of his books or website go to educating people about nutrition.

You see, he found his purpose.  He is a medical doctor and wants to help others learn about nutrition just like a doctor did for his grandmother and saved her life.  She lived many more years.  So many people have told me how much their grandmother influenced them, just like me. He has many you tube videos as well.  I like the way his nutrition facts website has a search engine where you can ask all kinds of questions.  If you have any questions, use it now.

Jingle Bells!

Jingle Bells! I have such fond memories of Christmas time when I was a child.  I loved Santa!

The children are easy to buy for as they have a long list of wants.  Men and women below 50 often have things they need or want.  But when you get to people as old as I am (51, right?), it gets harder to find that perfect something for Granny or Grandpa, doesn’t it?

You might look toward a gift of health.  Do they have any pain?  If so, there are braces or supports that might be helpful.  Perhaps a favorite bottle of herbal lotion for pain?  Or perhaps a gift certificate for massage.  Or maybe a set of one-pound weights to wear around their wrists or ankles to help them build muscle.   There are many things that older people need to help their body, so let that be your number one choice.  They will appreciate it!

Disease Proof Yourself!

How is that possible?  What we need to do it make sure when poisons come into our bodies, that they have a quick and easy way to get out of the body.

How do we do that?  In three, sometimes, easy steps:  1) avoid constipation, 2) drink plenty of good, clean water, and 3) be sure to sweat.

If you have ever had food poisoning, what would it have been like if you were constipated?  I only had food poisoning once, but it felt like a monster was inside me demanding to get out.  And we want to let it out!  Get rid of the toxins through good bowel movements (or flat-out diarrhea!), urinating (even excessively) and sweating.  Those are the hallmarks of detoxification!

Self-Care

These last six months have taught us the importance of being able to care for ourselves at home as much as possible.  That is where the “HEALY” comes in.  I bring this up because it is on sale this week.  Tesla and Einstein both said something to the effect that the medicine of the future will be with frequencies, and the Healy is a frequency machine.  And what I love the most is the Healy has an analyzer that will tell you what frequencies you need today.  That is a gift.

There are thousands of frequencies.  Which ones do I need?  The analyzer will tell you.

In this day and age, how nice it is to get help in the comfort of your own home.  If you live with pain or dysfunction, or just want to be ready for the next thing that comes along, consider a Healy.  I love mine and you will love yours too!

How Not To Die

“How Not To Die” is the title of Dr. Michael Greger’s book. I find it easier sometimes to listen to a video when I am cooking or getting dressed for the day instead of reading a book.

In this video, Dr. Greger goes through the top 15 reasons for cause of death and gives s synopsis of the research in regards to those causes.

What I love about him is his website, nutritionfacts.org. It is nice to be able to search for a diagnosis or a food. He is all about educating the public about food and how to avoid or recover from disease. I admire him and hope you do too!
